About the Role
The Guacamole Lead oversees the preparation, presentation, and quality of guacamole within the Taquería department. This role ensures guacamole meets company standards for freshness, flavor, and food safety while delivering extraordinary customer service. The Guacamole Lead also assists with stocking, ordering ingredients, and supporting operational goals in partnership with the Taquería Manager.
What You’ll Do
Prepare fresh guacamole according to company recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistent taste, texture, and presentation.
Assist the Taquería Manager in planning, organizing, and managing guacamole production to achieve sales and inventory goals.
Manage ingredient orders, maintain stock levels, and reduce waste/shrinkage.
Accurately weigh, price, and label guacamole products.
Create visually appealing displays, rotating stock to ensure freshness.
Greet customers, provide education on product freshness, ingredients, and pairings, and address concerns promptly.
Model Vallarta’s Nuestra CASA pledges with extraordinary customer service.
Report team concerns, injuries, or complaints promptly to management.
Follow food safety, sanitation, dress code, and workplace safety standards.
Support the Taquería team as needed and collaborate on promotions and process improvements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
Stand and walk for extended periods (6–8 hours/day).
Frequently bend, squat, twist, and reach above/below shoulders.
Use hands frequently for grasping, cutting, mixing, and fine manipulation.
Lift and carry up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 40 lbs. occasionally.
Work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to perishable foods.
What We’re Looking For
Friendly, customer-oriented personality with a passion for food preparation.
Six months of grocery or food retail experience preferred.
Prior experience in food preparation (deli or fresh foods) strongly desired.
Knowledge of guacamole preparation, ingredient selection, and quality control.
Ability to train and mentor team members.
Basic computer proficiency (Word, Outlook).
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
Willingness to transfer to other store locations if needed.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Fast-paced Taquería and fresh foods setting.
Exposure to perishable foods and refrigerated environments.
