About the Role
The Dairy/Deli/Frozen (DDF) Stocker is responsible for transporting, stocking, and displaying Dairy, Deli, and Frozen merchandise in the store. This role ensures shelves are clean, full, rotated, and appealing while following Vallarta’s high standards for freshness, safety, and customer service.
What You’ll Do
Customer Service: Smile, greet, and assist customers with courtesy and respect.
Merchandising: Stock shelves and displays according to company standards, rotate products, and remove out-of-date items.
Inventory Support: Notify supervisors of low stock levels, help prevent out-of-stocks and overstocks, and maintain proper backroom organization.
Product Handling: Transport merchandise safely, handle cartons carefully, and return damaged or distressed goods to designated areas.
Compliance & Safety: Follow company and health code regulations, practice safe lifting and equipment use, and report unsafe acts or conditions immediately.
Sanitation: Sweep, mop, and clean work areas; ensure shelves and displays meet company housekeeping standards.
Teamwork: Work closely with coworkers and supervisors, assist in building displays, and support night crew as needed.

Physical Requirements
Stand and walk for long periods (6–8 hours/day).
Frequently bend, squat, twist, kneel, and reach above/below shoulders.
Frequent use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
Lift and carry up to 25 lbs. frequently, up to 50 lbs. occasionally, and up to 61 lbs. with assistance (buddy system).
Longest distance carried: 12 feet.
Operate manual jacks, power jacks, forklifts, and pallet equipment safely.
Work near equipment and machinery, with exposure to noise, and varying temperatures.
May be required to perform tasks at elevated levels (placing or retrieving items).
What We’re Looking For
Ability to learn Dairy, Deli, and Frozen products and stock rotation practices.
Knowledge of handling dollies, box cutters, pallet jacks, and ladders.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
Basic understanding of English language.
Team-oriented, responsible, and customer-focused attitude.
Must be able to transfer to other store locations within a reasonable commute.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Work Environment
Fast-paced retail setting with direct customer interaction.
Exposure to perishable products, cold/frozen environments, and changing conditions.
Collaborative, team-focused environment.
Must work flexible schedule: afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
