About the Role

The Meat Wrapper is responsible for wrapping, weighing, and pricing meat, seafood, and cremeria products for display in the self-service case. This role ensures products are rotated, stocked, and presented according to company standards while delivering outstanding customer service and supporting the overall goals of the meat department.

What You’ll Do

• Smile and greet all customers, providing prompt and courteous service.
• Wrap, weigh, and price products using correct codes for meat, seafood, and cremeria.
• Stock and rotate packages in the self-service case, pulling any items that don’t meet packaging standards.
• Maintain self-service cases organized, clean, and fully stocked.
• Respond to customer requests and promote sales through suggestive selling.
• Prepare marinated meats and vegetable accompaniments.
• Transport products to coolers, storage areas, and worktables.
• Ensure case temperatures are accurate, report discrepancies to the Meat Manager.
• Maintain knowledge of all product codes and uses; comply with state weights and measures laws.
• Assist in cleaning and sanitizing work areas and equipment.
• Notify management of equipment failures or supply needs.
• Work safely, respectfully, and as part of a team at all times.
• Follow health code regulations, food safety standards, and company dress code.
• Abide by company policies and Employee Handbook.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk constantly (6–8+ hours/day).
• Frequently bend neck and waist, squat, twist, and reach above/below shoulders.
• Frequent repetitive hand use for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
• Lift and carry up to 25 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Heaviest item required to carry: 50 lbs., up to 100 feet.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other moving equipment.
• Work near equipment and machinery, with exposure to noise and temperature/humidity changes.
• No work at heights; no walking on uneven ground.

What We’re Looking For

• Ability to learn all codes for meat, seafood, and cremeria products.
• Basic understanding of English language.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional, respectful, and team-oriented attitude.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Work Environment

• Fast-paced retail meat department with direct customer interaction.
• Exposure to perishable products, refrigerated coolers, and changing conditions.
• Collaborative, team-focused workplace.
• Must be able to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
