PAYSCALE:
$18.25 - $18.77

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB:

Taqueria Clerk’s primary duties are to wash department supplies, equipment and overall cleanliness of the department.   Provides prompt and courteous service, assists taqueria personnel in gathering and preparing ingredients, including stocking and organizing product to meet the goals and objectives of the department. 

DUTIES:

1. Smile and greet all customers while providing outstanding prompt and courteous service.
2. Assist in gathering, washing and preparing food ingredients for cooks.
3. Wash and prepare raw meats for cooking (chicharrones, carnitas, rotisserie chickens).
4. Gather necessary ingredients for La Isla juice bar.
5. Stock and organize product in storage and refrigeration area.
6. Maintain food presentation cases, countertops, salsa bar, coffee bar, and dining area clean, organized and presentable.
7. Work as a team member, assist coworkers when needed.
8. Treat coworkers and customers respectfully at all times.  Do not use obscene and/or profane language.
9. Work safely and be aware of coworkers and customer safety at all times.
10. Follow all health code regulations; ensure the highest standards of food safety, personal hygiene, and sanitation are practiced.
11. Clean department; sweep and mop floors inside restaurant, and eating area; wash restaurant utensils, cookware, containers, trays and equipment.
12. Use approved cleaning chemicals and sanitizer, ensuring that the proper amounts are used for cleaning; use all cleaning equipment in a safe manner.
13. Properly dispose of trash and waste in trash receptacles.
14. Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify department management when supplies are needed
15. Follow dress code policy, and change apron and/or smock as needed.
16. Abide by all store rules, and company policies as stated in Company’s Employee Handbook.
17. Contact your department manager or store director regarding any questions, problems, or concerns.
18. Complete follow through of additional duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

Must have a good attitude, friendly and courteous personality, and enjoy working with the public.

Knowledge of the use of cleaning equipment and supplies.

Speak and understand Spanish.

Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced environment.

HELPFUL SKILLS:

Prior janitorial experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must exhibit a responsible, professional, and positive attitude towards the job.

Must have good communication skills.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Must be able to transfer to other locations within a reasonable commute of home store.

Must be able to document ability to legally work in the US.
