About the Role
The VWT Order Selector/Auditor plays a vital role in accurately selecting, building, and auditing grocery orders for Vallarta retail stores. This position is responsible for operating material handling equipment, including electric pallet jacks, forklifts, and voice-pick systems, while ensuring orders are properly built, labeled, and staged for shipment. The Order Selector/Auditor supports operational efficiency and accuracy by verifying outbound shipments, identifying discrepancies, and maintaining quality standards while modeling Vallarta’s six core values: customer service, commitment, integrity, respect, humility, and teamwork.
What You’ll Do
- Smile and greet all vendors and team members while delivering extraordinary customer service.
- Select, pick, and build grocery orders accurately using voice-collect systems or pick sheets.
- Assemble pallets, shrink-wrap orders, and stage them for shipment.
- Operate electric pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Verify order accuracy, ensuring correct quantities, SKUs, and product condition.
- Audit outbound shipments by comparing physical products to order manifests.
- Identify, document, and report discrepancies, damages, or variances.
- Repack orders as needed to maintain product integrity and presentation.
- Attach system-generated labels according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Complete daily equipment inspection checklists for all material handling equipment.
- Store and charge voice-collect equipment at the end of each shift.
- Report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or hazards immediately to the Supervisor, Shift Lead, or HR/Safety.
- Comply with all CAL/OSHA regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.
- Follow company safety policies and promote safe equipment usage.
- Abide by Vallarta’s team member handbook and policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Standing, walking, and bending (neck/waist) constantly (6–8+ hours/day).
- Occasionally twisting (neck/waist), squatting, kneeling, and reaching above/below shoulders.
- Frequent use of hands for pulling/pushing, manipulation, and constant grasping.
- Lift and carry up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally (use buddy system for 51+ lbs.).
- Heaviest item required to carry: 75 lbs. (longest distance: 15 ft.).
- Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
- Work near equipment/machinery exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures/humidity.
- No work at heights required.
